Halfords need to do a lot better. Customer service is very poor, no staff in the shop serving and when you do find one they disappear saying that someone else will be out.
I waited 10 minutes to get served and had to leave without my purchase. Returned later and after waiting 25 minutes and complaining i did finally get served.Staff were very friendly, polite & knowledgeable though.
I took my fatbike to Halfords for a new bottom bracket as my original one was needing a replacement so I asked them to do this as I don't have the correct tools to do so and I thought it would be quick and easy. After the bike being sat in Halfords for 3-4 days I recieved a phone call telling me to pick it up. I go and pick it up and I tested the brakes. That's when I noticed these had been adjusted, I mean messed with. I thought oh it's probaly new pads or they've been cleaned so they would need bedding in again as they wouldn't stop the bike. Once I got home I adjusted the brakes so they would be as good as they previosly were. They could stop the 22kg fatbike very easily. I could not get the brakes back to the way they were so I took the wheels off. I take the pads out and I was shocked by the amount of oil they have been vunrable to. They all had been contaminated very badly. I've pnly had those pads for a few months and as I said before they worked very well. I'm very annoyed that I ask for ONE thing to be fixed and not a full service of my bike as I know my bike WAS roadworthy. I have noticed that I can no longer get into gear 7 which I could before as I tuned the gears perfect so I could get into both 1st and 7th gear. I can retune the gears but I'm annoyed that I have to buy new pads and clean my disks. It's just so much more effort needed to what was a 10 minute job.
