Once again Clover Cars have sorted out problems that other garages have failed to fix (and been happy to charge me for). It's great to find a reliable garage where you can talk to the mechanic and look at the actual fault. I don't know why other garages can't get to the bottom of a straightforward problem, especially when it's the so-called specialist, eg Nissan, but Clover Cars have always managed to sort mine out, and at a good price. Same with my partner's car.
Very helpful, had a cambelt replacement + service and a few other things. Top notch, no problems at all. Great price too.
Steer well clear of this garage! Poor customer service, expensive and poor work carried out that did not solve the problem!A colleague of mine has always used this garage as they claim to have a speciality in BMW's. He bought a new 2003 BMW diesel model last year and took it in recently for a service and to fix a smoking and slight rattle issue from the exhaust. They had the car for nearly three weeks and in that time he was told that they had sourced the problem to be a bad 'Catalytic Converter' with this replaced for approx 400, plus some various other tinkering they finally billed him 850. When my colleague when to pick the car up he was told that all the problems were fixed and the car was ready to sell - it only took the drive home to realise that the car was smoking as bad as ever.This was a serious hazard to other motorists, my colleague is left seriously out of pocket for work that was not done to fix his car ready for sale, and he risks being pulled over and fined by the police everytime he drives the car. He's got four kids and does not need the hassle from these rogue traders, let alone the expense of 850 for nothing!He has raised all the issues above with the garage but they have no told him that they are not interested in even taking another look at the car unless he is willing to pay up more money for the cost of the labour and parts of whatever component they guess at replacing next - from their point of view it was his own bad luck that the Catalytic converter did not solve the problem!I would highly advise all to AVOID this garage and go elsewhere - these people clearly dont care for their customers and are rip-off merchants.
Having already had 3 cars serviced over 3 year period at Clover Cars in Barnstaple, I felt at ease delivering my 03 plate BMW for a service and work carried out before I would go on and sell it, in order to buy a 7 seater suitable to ferry around my young family.Outlining to staff on my arrival, my two key points of concern, namely the ridiculous amounts of think black smoking coming out the exhaust and a slight rattle on the underside.When finally after 3 weeks being presented with a bill for 850+, I asked the mechanic out right have the two main issues been resolved, there reply was yes, the cars running "perfect". Unfortunately this was not the case. No sooner had I left the garage the car smoking worse than ever. After many failed attempts for someone to call me back or respond to my emails I took my car back, only to be told they've decided to wash their hands of the problem. Saying perhaps I should consider taking my BMW to a diesel specialist, now I was under the impression all garages have the ability and no how to service both petrol & diesel vehicles.They originally told me they would place my car on their diagnostic device, which would pin point the issue, which could then be fixed. This was never carried out for my 850+, they instead guest wrong the diagnosis.I represented them with various options, even suggested Id pay EXTRA to have the job carried out completely. But they insist its not something they wish to pursue.Now with 4 children, all under 10 and in full time employment, I'm down 850 and NO car.I feel I've been taken for a ride, my hard earned money robbed.
