Very noisy room as headboard backed onto lift shaft. RM 206. Bed was on a slope too. Hotel really should consider losing this room as I can't think many guests will appreciate hearing the lift go up and down the lift shaft all evening. Manager should really try a night in this room to fully understand why such a well presented room is let down by unavoidable noise. Hotel very nice besides the lack of sleep.

Much improved since visit 12mnths ago. January carvery offer 10 with dessert. Went today with 4 friends. Comfortable lounge seating, friendly helpful staff. Ideal location in town, nearby car parks. Brends hotels are the best.
It looked so festive and welcoming decorations were beautiful and tasteful. We enjoyed our visit and the staff were helpful and efficient. Coffee in the lounge watching the world go by is a must any time we are in Barnstaple.
A lovely place and nice hotel! I booked the Sunday carvery which was very nice the food was fantastic for the price which include a dessert. Although the choice of deserts were all fresh cream which wasn't good for me. There should have been another option other than fresh cream desserts on offer! Due being allergic to fresh cream..
