Today, I went with my family to the M&S cafe in Barnstaple. As a vegan, I was delighted to see the M&S 'Plant Kitchen' range and was hoping to see a lot of vegan options in the cafe. To my disgust, the only vegan options were water and some juices! In addition to this, the 'Plant Kitchen' range was being advertised on every table. Usually, there are vegan options for at least milk for coffee and tea but there were none! This cafe really is not suitable for vegans or people that are lactose intolerant. I will definitely not be going there again

This is a medium sized M&S that has a food hall and a small cafe as well as all the other normal departments. The staff are friendly and helpful and the store is well laid out. The only things that let it down are the are the following:-1. A decent beauty department. This one is very small with a limited range of products. It's not too bad when it comes to skin care but really lacking where makeup is concerned. Even only slightly bigger stores have a better selection than this one.2. It only has an escalator to go up to the next floor, but there isn't one to go down on. Instead there's a long flight of often rather gloomy stairs. There is a lift but it's not very well signed and it's tucked away in a corner at the back of men's footwear. If you didn't know the store well it would be hard to find. I know this might sound a bit petty but it's a big issue for those of us with mobility problems who struggle with stairs, and is of course especially difficult for wheelchair users.However, the above points notwithstanding, overall it's a nice place to shop and we use it regularly.
Where are all the stick thin people you shoe in your adverts. I saw mainly retired folk. Time you took a good look at your customer base and went back to your core market
The staff in the cafe in this store were fantastic and really made us feel welcome and valued as customers. We stopped here for a light bite to eat so bee-lined straight to the cafe area. It was not overly busy and there was a great range of hot and cold meals and snacks to choose from. Whether looking for a lunch time meal or a quick coffee and cake this is absolutely the place to come.
